I was invited to guest operate the 2001 CQ World Wide DX Contest, Phone, at K5TR. George Fremin III K5TR lives near Johnson City, TX, about sixty kilometers due west of Austin, TX. This was a 10 meter single band effort, and was only part-time, as I had previous commitments Friday night and Sunday afternoon. I had fun.

George and his wife and a few friends built the garage and ham shack building mostly during the year 2000. In the apring of 2001, he had not built a real operating desk yet. |
|
The main radio is a Kenwood TS-850SAT. As George only had a single four-element yagi for ten meters up at the time, there was realy no point in having a second radio at the operating table. The amplifier is an Ameritron AL-1500. |

Other gear on the table includes a second antenna rotor (not connected to anything at that time) a two meter multi-mode radio, and a two meter transverter. I used TR Log to log QSOs. |
